Adil Hussain Expresses regret for doing the Movie

In a podcast interview, Hussain revealed that he didn't have time to read the full script and was only sent the script for the original Telugu film "Arjun Reddy." Despite asking his manager to negotiate for more money to dissuade the filmmakers from casting him, they agreed to his terms. He mentioned feeling embarrassed while watching the film and expressed fear that his wife might see it, causing him further embarrassment.

Hussain criticized "Kabir Singh" for its portrayal of misogyny and violence, stating that it celebrates behaviour that is detrimental to society. He emphasized that while filmmakers have the freedom to make any movie they want, he doesn't have to agree with them.

"Kabir Singh" follows the story of a medical student, Kabir Rajdheer Singh, who struggles with anger issues and becomes intensely devoted to his love interest, Preeti Sikka. The film received both commercial success and criticism for its portrayal of toxic masculinity and romanticizing problematic behaviour.

The movie is available to watch on Netflix and Amazon Prime.
