With some jokes and stuff we've seen before in movies, "Family Aaj Kal" tries to make us feel cozy, but in a time when people aren't really cool with accepting others.

What happens when the only daughter in a family falls for a taxi driver? "Family Aaj Kal" shows us how the family deals with it.

Review:

"Judging is easy, understanding is hard," is what "Family Aaj Kal" tells us. It wants us to be cool about people's choices and shows us how society is busy with things like religion, instead of just being chill.

The show doesn't start with a bang or anything super exciting. It begins with normal stuff like traffic and the main character at home. She seems like she lives alone, but she doesn't. There's a lot of overthinking going on, which is interesting but doesn't keep you hooked.

Episode one, "Mann Ki Baat," is about the daughter dealing with a situation. The acting is good, and the expressions of the actors are on point. The music adds to the mood.

The first meeting with the taxi driver is the best part. The dialogue "gira hua lagta hoon" is still funny.

The second episode talks about family. The family goes to meet the taxi driver to see what he's like. Was it right for them to do that? You decide.

The show also looks at how people judge others based on their jobs. It shows family drama well, especially with the older generation.

There are some funny moments, especially with the grandfather, but they don't really hit until the third episode. "Diversion" starts with a change in the plan, and things get funny.

The show sometimes turns black and white for no reason, even when it's not about the past. The dark humor might not be for everyone, but if you get it, you'll enjoy it.

The actors really shine in these episodes. Nitesh Tiwari is a surprise package. The third episode is more about emotions, while the fifth episode shows his funny side.

The fourth episode shows the first meeting between the couple and how their love grows.

The episode moves smoothly between flashbacks and the present. There's a character like Geet from "Jab We Met" in the show.

The song in the episode fits perfectly. The music doesn't distract from the story.

The fifth episode, "Uno Reverse," is the best. Sonali shines throughout.

"Family Aaj Kal" has some great moments, but they're few. It might not be everyone's thing. In today's world, it could even be controversial, which is ironic because it's about not judging others. It's soft but straightforward about not judging others. So, if you're open-minded, give it a watch.
