Rajinikanth’s latest film Coolie continues to make waves at the box office even in its third week. After a slight dip during weekdays, the film has bounced back strongly thanks to the festive season of Ganesh Chaturthi. On Day 17, the action entertainer showed solid momentum and crossed the impressive 275 crore mark in India.
According to early trade estimates, Coolie collected about 2.65 crore on its seventeenth day, showing a healthy jump from the previous day’s 1.7 crore. With this, the film’s total domestic collection now stands at 275.85 crore net, a remarkable feat for a film running into its third week.
Tamil Market Continues to Dominate
Tamil Nadu remains the biggest contributor to Coolie’s success. On Day 17, the film recorded an overall 23.68 percent occupancy in Tamil shows, peaking at over 31 percent during night screenings. Chennai led the way with more than 370 shows and nearly 29 percent occupancy, while Pondicherry stunned with 33.75 percent occupancy across 27 shows. Other cities like Coimbatore, Trichy, and Bengaluru also showed strong support.
Hindi Version Faces Slowdown
The Hindi dubbed version titled Coolie The Powerhouse has witnessed a drop in screenings, now playing in fewer than 100 shows across regions. However, it still managed an overall 14.31 percent occupancy on Day 17, showing better traction during evening and night shows. Surprisingly, Jaipur recorded nearly 45 percent occupancy, making it one of the strongest contributors among Hindi belts, while Bengaluru also impressed with over 31 percent occupancy despite limited screenings.
Telugu Market Holding Steady
The Telugu version continues to maintain decent numbers with an overall 16.83 percent occupancy on Day 17. Hyderabad led the way with more than 150 shows, sustaining audience interest and helping the film’s numbers remain steady.
Coolie’s Journey So Far
Released on August 14, Coolie hit theatres in Tamil along with dubbed versions in Telugu, Hindi, and Kannada. The Rajinikanth starrer had a strong opening and, despite facing competition and a slight slowdown during weekdays, has proven its staying power. With the festive season boosting footfalls, the film has crossed 275 crore in India and is now firmly on its way to entering the 300 crore club.
Rajinikanth’s star power, combined with festive spirit and strong regional pull, has ensured that Coolie remains one of the biggest hits of 2025 so far. Fans and trade experts alike are keenly watching as the film marches towards another big milestone.
