Pankaj Tripathi shared how essaying the role of Atal Bihari Vajpayee in "Main Atal Hoon" left a lasting impact on him. The actor won hearts for his portrayal of the nation’s ‘Poet’ Prime Minister.
While he never got a chance to meet the former PM, Tripathi praised certain aspects of Vajpayee's personality, which he came across while filming.
In an interview with a news channel, the actor shared, "Being part of Atal Ji’s rallies was an honour for me. It left a strong impression. His speeches, charisma, and the way he connected with people were truly impressive." He also talked about how being a part of the rallies, which were recreated in the movie, taught him valuable lessons. The former’s PM adages on leadership, effective communication, and connecting with people, resonated with Tripathi.
Tripathi also discussed how playing the role brought changes within himself. He highlighted Vajpayee's love for the country and his ability to unite people as qualities that he imbibed from the character.
Tripathi shared a beautiful quote from Vajpayee, where the former PM said “We want peace to last forever”.He appreciated how the nation’s leaders uphold peace in society and the importance of prioritising the country's well-being.
He further acknowledged the personal growth that he observed after his portrayal of Vajpayee. "After playing Atal Ji’s character, I have become more democratic within."
He expressed newfound understanding and acceptance, noting his willingness to embrace criticism without holding grudges.

The actor was last seen in Netflix’s murder mystery titled ‘Murder Mubaarak’ with Sara Ali Khan and Vijay Verma.
