Mohit Suri’s Saiyaara is rewriting the box office playbook for debut films. With stellar numbers through its third weekend and global earnings nearing half a billion, Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda have arrived in style.

When Saiyaara released on July 18, few expected it to take over 2025’s box office conversation quite so powerfully. But just over two weeks later, the film is in its third weekend and inching closer to a monumental 500 crore worldwide, with Rs 291.35 crore already banked in India.

The romantic drama has not only outpaced expectations, but is now giving stiff competition to newer releases like Son of Sardaar 2 and Dhadak 2. According to trade tracker Sacnilk, Saiyaara earned Rs 6.35 crore on its third Saturday alone, registering a sharp 41 percent jump compared to the previous day. That kind of growth, especially in the third week, is rare and only reserved for films with mass and critical appeal.

At the global box office, Saiyaara has already crossed Rs 450 crore. All signs point to the film breaching the Rs 300 crore mark domestically by early next week. It is now officially among the highest-grossing Hindi films of the year.

The love story, led by Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, has clearly struck an emotional chord with audiences. Their chemistry, supported by Mohit Suri’s signature music and direction, has created a cinematic moment that is bigger than anyone anticipated.

The film opened with a jaw-dropping Rs 83 crore weekend and followed it up with a steady Rs 172.75 crore in Week 1. In Week 2, it added another Rs 107.75 crore. What’s most surprising is its consistency. Despite new films entering the fray every weekend, Saiyaara has refused to let go of its hold on viewers.

Director Mohit Suri, speaking to NDTV, expressed how thrilled the debutants are. “They keep sending me videos of fans cheering or theatres clapping. It’s overwhelming for them. Every message is filled with excitement and disbelief,” he said.

Industry insiders believe Saiyaara’s box office story is far from over. With no major releases until mid-August, the film has a clear runway to hit Rs 500 crore globally by the end of its theatrical run. For Ahaan Panday, this debut is not just a success, it’s a phenomenon.
