Ayushmann Khurrana will join Deol in this much-anticipated sequel. Although details are scarce, recent reports indicate that the film will start shooting in October 2024. The team has been working hard on pre-production and is almost ready to begin filming.
A source close to the project revealed, "The team behind Border 2 has been working tirelessly to prepare everything. It's been a long time in the making, as they wanted to do justice to the magnitude of the first film. Now, as the preparations are almost done, the team will begin shooting in October."
Details about Border 2 are mostly under wraps. It is said to be set on the same night as the events of the first film. The film will be directed by Anurag Singh and is aiming for a Republic Day weekend release in 2026. The original Border, directed by JP Dutta, starred Suniel Shetty, Akshaye Khanna, Jackie Shroff, Pooja Bhatt, Rakhee, and Tabu. There is no confirmation if any of these actors, besides Sunny Deol, will reprise their roles.
