The wait is finally over for anime fans in India. Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle, the latest and most anticipated chapter in the blockbuster anime franchise, is officially opening its doors to Indian audiences. Already a record-smashing success in Japan, the film is all set to create history in India with its widest ever release for an anime title.

On Wednesday, Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures Entertainment confirmed that advance bookings for Demon Slayer Infinity Castle Chapter One will open on September 5. The theatrical release is scheduled for September 12 across India, making this the beginning of an unforgettable journey into the trilogy that will mark the end of the franchise’s epic saga.

A milestone for anime in India

Infinity Castle will release in more than 750 screens across the country, setting a new benchmark as the largest release for any anime film in India. Fans will have the chance to experience it in five languages: Japanese with English subtitles, English, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu. This multi-language rollout ensures that the movie reaches anime lovers across different regions, reflecting how the fandom has expanded beyond metropolitan cities.

Star-studded celebrations in Mumbai

As if the wide release was not enough to fuel excitement, a special advance screening will be held in Mumbai on September 7, just a few days before the nationwide release. Adding to the celebration, Indian movie stars Rashmika Mandanna and Tiger Shroff, both self-proclaimed anime superfans, will join the event. This once-in-a-lifetime spectacle promises to give Indian fans a taste of Japan’s grand anime premieres right here at home.

A clean release for fans

Infinity Castle has already cleared its review with the Central Board of Film Certification and will release with a U/A 13+ rating. Importantly, the film has not been subjected to any visual cuts, which means fans will get to enjoy the action-packed story exactly as it was intended.

Box office triumph in Japan

Since its release in Japan on July 18, Infinity Castle has been rewriting history at the box office. It has held the number one spot for seven consecutive weeks, grossing nearly 30 billion yen (204 million dollars) in just 45 days. The film also recently climbed past Titanic to become the third highest-grossing film of all time in Japan. With its worldwide rollout including North America, India, and Canada, analysts expect Infinity Castle to cross 300 million dollars in global earnings very soon.

This success only adds to the incredible legacy of Demon Slayer. Its earlier film Mugen Train remains Japan’s highest-grossing movie of all time, and Infinity Castle looks set to follow that path on a global scale.

The beginning of the end

The first film of the Infinity Castle trilogy kicks off the final arc of Koyoharu Gotoge’s beloved manga. It brings fans closer to the concluding chapters of Tanjiro’s journey, filled with emotional depth, breathtaking visuals, and high-stakes battles. With its scale, storytelling, and emotional impact, this release is expected to redefine anime cinema in India.

For Indian fans, this is not just another release. It is a milestone that cements the rising power of anime in the country’s entertainment industry. Whether you are a long-time follower of Demon Slayer or a newcomer curious about the hype, Infinity Castle promises to be an unforgettable experience on the big screen.
