Salman Khan is no stranger to larger-than-life roles, but this one is different. In his own words, it’s the kind of part that demands more than muscle and star power. It demands endurance, discipline, and sheer willpower. The Bollywood megastar is gearing up for Battle of Galwan, where he will portray Colonel B Santosh Babu, the commanding officer who led the 16 Bihar Regiment during the violent 2020 Galwan Valley clash with Chinese troops. The upcoming shoot, set in the icy heights of Ladakh, has even Salman admitting he is dreading what’s ahead.

Speaking exclusively to NDTV at the launch of Season 2 of the Indian Supercross Racing League, Salman shared his thoughts on the physical challenge the film presents. “We start shooting in 10 days. It's a tough one. Intense, all hand-to-hand combat in the freezing waters of Leh-Ladakh. We'll be in fresh snow-melting water for 8 days straight. I'm dreading it, but I'll do it,” he said. It’s not just acting this time, it’s immersion into a soldier’s pain, cold, and courage at 15,000 feet above sea level.

The motion poster of the film, which dropped earlier this month, already sent ripples across social media. It shows Salman bloodied, bruised, and bearded, standing in battle-ready gear with a stark intensity in his eyes. The patriotic undercurrent of the film is inspired by the book India’s Most Fearless 3 by Shiv Aroor and Rahul Singh. For an actor who’s seen it all, Battle of Galwan might be one of his most meaningful challenges yet.

But Salman’s plate isn’t just full of cinema right now. At the ISRL launch, he also donned the hat of a motorsport entrepreneur. As both brand ambassador and investor, he passionately spoke about India’s growing appetite for biking and racing. He even reminisced about building his first bike, calling it a jugaadu creation that kicked off a lifelong passion. “I think India is more than ready for a serious racing ecosystem. It’s time we built that infrastructure and spirit,” he added.

As Salman Khan prepares to head to Leh, there’s more than just snow waiting. There’s a story that needs to be told, one of real heroes, unfiltered sacrifice, and a battle that still echoes in memory. And if the first look is anything to go by, he’s all in.
