The idea for 'The Virgin Tree' came from Sanjay Dutt himself. About five years ago, Dutt shared the story with Deepak Mukut. Initially, Mukut had approached Dutt for a music video, but they decided to collaborate on this horror comedy instead. At that time, the film's director, Sidhaant Sachdev, was working with Vikram Bhatt.
The film's title, 'The Virgin Tree,' has an interesting backstory. Deepak Mukut explained that 'vir' stands for 'vardaan,' meaning blessing in Hindi, and 'gin' is a play on the word 'djinn,' referring to supernatural beings. So, the title actually means 'The Var-djinn Tree.' However, the team is considering changing the English title to something more appealing to a broad audience.
Release Plans
Currently, 'The Virgin Tree' is a working title. The filmmakers aim to release the movie in August this year, although the exact date has not been confirmed yet. Fans are eagerly awaiting this new project.
