Aban Bharucha Deohans's sequel to 'Silence' (2021) has hit ZEE5 titled 'Silence 2: The Night Owl Bar Shootout', but it fails to live up to its predecessor's intrigue.
Manoj Bajpayee's Performance as ACP Avinash Verma
Manoj Bajpayee reprises his role as ACP Avinash Verma, leading a Special Crimes Unit under threat of shutdown for undisclosed reasons. The film follows Avinash as he investigates a shooting at the Night Owl Bar, where a minister's secretary and a journalist are among the victims.
Despite the potentially intriguing premise, the film falls short due to its lacklustre execution. The investigation feels drawn-out, with little depth given to Avinash's character or his team members. Avinash's personality remains undeveloped, with his only defining trait being his collection of jackets. His team members are forgettable, serving little purpose beyond accompanying him.
Film's Narrative & Climax
The film's climax, which attempts to tie up loose ends, feels forced and disconnected from the rest of the narrative. Despite Manoj Bajpayee's talent, 'Silence 2' fails to capitalize on its potential, offering little in terms of engaging storytelling or character development. Overall, it's a disappointment compared to other crime shows available for streaming.
Check out the trailer of the movie and if you feel like giving it a go, catch it on Zee5.
