Marvin Jones III Joins the Cast

The much awaited Spider Man Brand New Day is making headlines again, this time for the casting of a key villain. Marvin Jones III, also known as Krondon, has reportedly been signed to play the formidable crime boss Tombstone. Fans may recognize Jones from his voice role as Tombstone in the Oscar winning animated film Spider Man Into the Spider Verse. His return to the character in live action adds a new layer of excitement for audiences who already loved his menacing performance in animation.

Tom Holland’s Health Pause

Filming for the project, directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, has been temporarily halted after Tom Holland suffered a concussion during an action sequence. Doctors advised him to rest for a week, and production will resume once he is cleared. The delay is not expected to impact the movie’s global release date of July 31, 2026. Fans can rest assured that Holland will be back as the friendly neighborhood Spider Man soon.

Who is Tombstone

Tombstone, whose real name is Lonnie Lincoln, is a notorious Marvel Comics villain first introduced in the late 1980s. Known for his intimidating presence, albino skin, sharpened teeth, and nearly indestructible body, he has long been one of Spider Man’s most grounded yet terrifying foes. Bringing him into the live action fold adds grit and realism to the film’s storyline, promising more grounded crime driven conflicts alongside the superhero spectacle.

Marvin Jones III’s Career

Jones is no stranger to playing memorable villains. He previously portrayed Tobias Whale in DC’s Black Lightning series and has acted in Shadow Force, The Equalizer, Halo Season 2, and All American Homecoming. His upcoming projects include Amazon Prime Video’s Criminal with Emilia Clarke and Jonás Cuarón’s Gringo Champion. His casting as Tombstone solidifies his place as one of Hollywood’s most sought after actors for powerful antagonistic roles.
