Bigg Boss 19 has always been a massive television spectacle, but this year, the spotlight is as much on the show as it is on the heightened security measures surrounding its host, Salman Khan. After a series of threats and incidents targeting the superstar, the production team has introduced stricter protocols to ensure his safety as well as that of the cast and crew.
Rishi Negi, CEO of Endemol Shine India, the company behind the iconic reality show, confirmed that the team has undertaken a complete security overhaul. Negi emphasized that with nearly 600 staff working around the clock in three shifts, content security and on-ground logistics remain their top priorities. “We are absolutely uncompromising when it comes to safety,” he said.
What Has Changed in Bigg Boss 19 Security?
The first and most significant change is the elimination of live audiences during episodes hosted by Salman Khan. In earlier seasons, audiences were present to cheer and interact, but now the safety risks have forced the makers to remove this feature. Strict background checks are being carried out on every single person who enters the production zone—whether a permanent staff member, a temporary worker, or even vendors. This measure ensures that only verified individuals are allowed near the sets.
Security has been tightened at all entry and exit points, with multiple layers of checking. Movement of outsiders is heavily restricted, and the production has increased coordination with local law enforcement. Mumbai Police, who already provide Y+ category security to Salman Khan, continue to extend support on set, reinforcing the overall protective environment.
Why the Extra Precautions?
The bolstered security measures come in the wake of several threats against Salman Khan’s life. In April 2024, gunshots were fired outside his Galaxy Apartments residence in Mumbai’s Bandra area, an incident later linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Anmol Bishnoi, the gangster’s brother, even claimed responsibility for the attack on social media.
In response, Salman Khan not only received Y+ security cover from the police but also took personal steps for protection. He imported a bulletproof Nissan Patrol SUV worth approximately Rs 2 crore from Dubai and added bulletproof glass to his Mumbai residence. These layers of defense highlight just how serious the threat perception around the actor has become.

The blend of actors, musicians, influencers, and social personalities has already created enough buzz, ensuring the show remains in headlines not just for controversies and drama inside the house but also for the extraordinary steps being taken outside to secure its host.
Final Word
Bigg Boss thrives on unpredictability, but the safety of its host is non-negotiable. With the latest measures in place, the producers have made it clear that Salman Khan’s security is paramount. While the absence of a live audience may change the dynamics slightly, fans will still get their dose of drama, tasks, and Salman’s iconic Weekend Ka Vaar sessions—now with added layers of safety.
