"House of the Dragon" is gearing up for Season 2 by dropping two trailers that ask viewers to pick a side in the Targaryen civil war: Rhaenyra's black faction or Alicent's green team. Set 200 years before the events of "Game of Thrones," Season 2 will depict the start of the Dance of the Dragons.
What can fans expect in Season 2?
Following the Season 1 finale, tensions are high as war looms over Westeros. Both the blacks and the greens are preparing their forces, dragons, and alliances for a bloody battle for the Iron Throne. Meanwhile, King Aegon in King's Landing asserts his claim to the throne, while Rhaenyra sees it as her rightful inheritance. The trailers also hint at a return to Winterfell, the snowy home of the Starks, ruled by Cregan Stark in the prequel.
Based on George R.R. Martin's book "Fire & Blood," the series follows the history of House Targaryen. Season 1 focused on Princess Rhaenyra's quest to become the chosen heir and the ensuing war of succession.
