Fans of Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria can look forward to her new show! The actress is set to star in the upcoming comedy-drama series Land of Women, which also stars Carmen Maura, Victoria Bazua, and Santiago Cabrera, among others. The six-episode series is based on the best-selling novel La Tierra de las Mujeres by award-winning author Sandra Barneda, first published a decade ago.

Premiere Date and Plot

Land of Women is set to premiere on June 26 on Apple TV+ with a two-episode drop. Following the initial release, new episodes will be available weekly every Wednesday. In Land of Women, Eva Longoria stars as Gala Scott, an upscale New Yorker whose seemingly perfect life is shattered when her husband, Fred (played by James Purefoy), implicates the family in a massive financial scandal involving $15 million. Faced with the threat of dangerous criminals demanding their due, Gala has no choice but to flee the city with her aging mother (played by Carmen Maura) and teenage daughter (portrayed by Victoria Bazua).

The trio seeks refuge in a quaint wine town in northern Spain, a place Gala’s mother had fled from 50 years prior. As they try to rebuild their lives and keep their identities hidden, they discover that small-town life comes with its own set of challenges. Gossip spreads quickly, and deep-seated family secrets begin to surface, complicating their efforts to remain anonymous.

Additional Projects

Besides Land of Women, Eva Longoria will also appear in a recurring role in the fourth season of Only Murders in the Building, which returns on August 27 on Hulu (available on Disney+ Hotstar in India). Carmen Maura, a celebrated Spanish actress, brings her acclaimed talent to the series, having won multiple Goya Awards for Best Leading Actress, Spain’s national film awards.
