Mahavatar Narsimha’s OTT Debut

Following its successful theatrical release on July 25, Mahavatar Narsimha is making its way to Netflix. The film will premiere on September 19 at 12:30 PM, available in Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, Tamil, and Malayalam, with English subtitles for global audiences. Produced by Kleem Productions and presented by Hombale Films, the film is the first installment of the ambitious Mahavatar Cinematic Universe.

Netflix India confirmed the release on Instagram with the post, “Bhakti shakti ka roop legi. Aa raha hai Mahavatar Narsimha. Watch Mahavatar Narsimha, out 19 September, 12:30 PM, on Netflix.”

Theatrical Success and Global Reach

During its theatrical run, the film grossed more than ₹282 crore worldwide, becoming a landmark success for animated Indian cinema. Director Ashwin Kumar revealed his vision to take Indian mythological storytelling global, inspired by Japanese and Korean anime. The team is already working on making future films available in multiple international languages such as English, Japanese, Spanish, Korean, and Russian.

Story and Mythological Roots

The film narrates the legend of Lord Vishnu’s fiercest incarnation, Narasimha — a half-man, half-lion avatar who emerges to protect his devoted follower Prahlad Maharaj and defeat the tyrant king Hiranyakashyap. Blending high-end animation with traditional mythology, the movie brings to life one of the most powerful tales from Indian scriptures.

The Beginning of a Larger Cinematic Universe

Mahavatar Narsimha is the first chapter in a seven-part saga planned over the next decade. Upcoming titles in the Mahavatar series include:

  • Mahavatar Parshuram (2027)

  • Mahavatar Raghunandan (2029)

  • Mahavatar Dwarkadhish (2031)

  • Mahavatar Gokulananda (2033)

  • Mahavatar Kalki Part 1 (2035) and Part 2 (2037)

This long-term vision positions the franchise as India’s answer to global fantasy sagas, aiming to blend spirituality, mythology, and cutting-edge storytelling for international audiences.

Final Word

With its upcoming Netflix release, Mahavatar Narsimha is set to reach millions of households worldwide, offering a mix of cultural depth and cinematic scale. For audiences who missed its theatrical run or want to relive the magic, the OTT premiere marks a new milestone in India’s animation and mythological storytelling journey.
