Acting is a tough profession where the next paycheck is often uncertain. Actors must fight to stay relevant and survive in a competitive industry. Durgesh Kumar, who plays Bhushan in the popular series Panchayat, has finally gained the recognition he deserves after a long struggle. However, his journey included difficult decisions, like acting in soft porn films to earn money.

Durgesh Kumar's Revelation

In a candid interview, Durgesh revealed that actors are part of a unique and often misunderstood community. He mentioned that many successful actors, like Manoj Bajpayee and Pankaj Tripathi, who were his seniors at the National School of Drama, as well as Nawazuddin Siddiqui, share a common trait of being "half crazy" due to the nature of their profession.

Battling Depression

Durgesh talked about his battle with depression and the mental strength required to survive in the acting industry. He emphasized that acting is not a field for everyone, as it demands immense dedication and resilience. Despite having worked in films, he found it embarrassing to go for random auditions, especially when recognized by casting directors.

From Minor Role to Major Character

Durgesh shared how his role in Panchayat evolved from a single shot in Season 1 to a developed character in subsequent seasons. He expressed gratitude to Chandan Kumar and Deepak Kumar Mishra for writing the 'Banrakas' role, which allowed him to showcase his talent. He humbly acknowledged that he is not like Irrfan Khan or Nawazuddin Siddiqui but an average actor with a strong survival instinct.

Confession About Soft Porn Films

In the same interview, Durgesh confessed to acting in soft porn films for financial reasons. He stated, "I can't live without acting. I did any work that came my way because I was confident in my abilities." Despite the challenges, he now enjoys a stable role in Panchayat and looks forward to a promising future.
